There is a big mismatch between the jobs occupied and the educational qualification of the workforce in india as cited by the Economic Survey of India 2024-25. only 8.25 percent graduates occupy the jobs which are suited to their qualification. This is showing a wider skill gap proportional to job market. The survey also shows that 50 percent of degree holders still working in ‘elementary’ or ‘semiskilled’ employments which do not demand the required qualification they have.
